CIC successfully organized a seminar: "Application of Plaxis Software in Underground Construction Calculation"

This seminar was attended by experts Bentley Corporation, representatives CIC Company, and delegates Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The event attracted a large number of engineers and industry specialists.

With the theme "Application of Plaxis Software in Underground Construction Calculation," Mr. Dinh Huynh Thai, a representative CIC Company, delivered a presentation on the new features of Plaxis software. These include the following:

1. Subscription Entitlement Service (SES) License Management: Managing activation of licenses.
2. 2D Classic Converter Tool: A tool for converting 2D classic projects.
3. Introduction of New UDSM (User Defined Soil Model) Models.
4. New Command: Clearmaterial.
5. Calculation Manager: A tool for managing calculations.
6. Discontinuity Element: A new element to model rock cracks and fractures.
7. Cable Bolt Element: Used to simulate rock reinforcement, such as grouted or frictional cable bolts, mainly used for tension and/or compression.
8. Improved Geometry Import.
9. Importing Cross Sections Seequent Central.
10. Conversion Tool PLAXIS 2D to GeoStudio SLOPE/W, PLAXIS LE.
11. PLAXIS - SACS Suction Bucket Analysis Tool: Analyzing offshore wind turbine foundations using the Suction Bucket method.

This seminar highlighted the advancements in Plaxis software that enhance its capabilities for underground construction calculations.

PLAXIS originated Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The 2D version was released in 1998, and the first 3D version was introduced in 2010. In 2028, Plaxis became a part of Bentley Systems. By 2021, Plaxis had become a component of Seequent, a Bentley Subsurface company.

Following that, Bentley's experts provided an overview of the company's software solutions in the fields of Energy, Construction, and Geotechnics. A representative HUTECH University in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, presented on the analysis of displacement phenomena caused by variable factors in retaining walls for deep excavations in areas with weak geological conditions in Ho Chi Minh City.

Finally, Dr. Hoang The Thao, a representative Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, analyzed the behavior of the Metro tunnel during the underground construction process of adjacent structures using Plaxis 3D software.
