What is EDP?

EPD is a comprehensive report prepared by manufacturers according to international standards (such as ISO 14025, EN 15804, etc.) that reveals the environmental performance of a product throughout its production and use. By using predetermined parameters, EPD ensures transparency and reliability of environmental information, helping consumers choose products and services with lower environmental impact, contributing to building a sustainable future.

From the moment a product is created until it is completely processed or recycled, it has various impacts on the environment: the most widely known being the issue of global warming caused by greenhouse gases (carbon footprint), as well as other effects such as eutrophication (abnormal growth of underwater organisms, such as algae, due to decreased population density of aquatic animals), thinning or depletion of the ozone layer, acid rain, erosion of silver-colored soil, depletion of natural resources, and many other impacts... Therefore, evaluating EPD to obtain information on the environmental performance of a product is extremely necessary.
