    Model conversion tool between PLAXIS 2D, SLOPE/W, and PLAXIS LE

    The PLAXIS 2D conversion tool helps users quickly open the same model as GeoStudio SLOPE/W or PLAXIS LE to perform limit equilibrium method (LEM) analysis.

    Introduction

    The PLAXIS 2D - Limit Equilibrium converter tool allows users to quickly open the same model with the same geometry, construction configuration, loading conditions, and material assignments as in GeoStudio SLOPE/W or PLAXIS LE to perform Limit Equilibrium Method (LEM) analysis.

     

    Easy conversion PLAXIS 2D to GeoStudio SLOPE/W.

    Applicable on the following versions

    • PLAXIS 2D 2023.1, GeoStudio 2023.1, and PLAXIS LE CONNECT Edition V21.
    • PLAXIS 2D CONNECT Edition V22.01, PLAXIS LE CONNECT Edition V21, and GeoStudio SLOPE/W 2022.

    User guide

    1. Download the conversion tool Download
    2. Extract and copy the lem_converter.pyw file and the entire plaxis_fele folder to the installation directory C:Program FilesBentleyGeotechnicalPLAXIS 2D CONNECT Edition V22pytoolsinput.
    3. Launch PLAXIS 2D 2023.1 Input software.
    4. Enable Geotechnical SELECT Entitlements (GSE) feature.

    Convert PLAXIS 2D model to GeoStudio SLOPE/W or PLAXIS LE

    1. Select "PLAXIS to LEM" option.
    2. Open a PLAXIS file that you want to convert to a limit equilibrium model.
    3. Go to Staged Construction and select a phase.
    4. PLAXIS 2D will display a port configuration prompt: Select OK to activate and the tool will automatically set up the port and password.
    5. Choose to use GeoStudio (SLOPE/W) or PLAXIS LE.
    6. Select the necessary conversion parameters.
    7. Click the "Convert" button to initiate the conversion.
    8. After a few seconds, PLAXIS LE or GeoStudio will open the converted model.

    Convert GeoStudio SLOPE/W model to PLAXIS 2D

    1. Select "GeoStudio Reader" option.
    2. Choose the source file, a GeoStudio file (*.gsz).
    3. Select the appropriate geometry.
    4. Click the "Convert" button to initiate the conversion.
