    Successfully Organize a Conference on the Application of Bentley's BIM/Digital Twin Solutions in High-Speed Rail Projects

    CIC and Bentley Systems affirm their pioneering position in technological innovation, contributing to improving the quality and efficiency of transport infrastructure investment in Vietnam in general, and high-speed rail projects in particular, through the application of Bentley's BIM/Digital Twin solutions.

    On the morning of February 25, 2025, CIC Technology and Consulting JSC, in collaboration with Transport Engineering Design and Construction JSC (TEDI) and Bentley Systems (USA), successfully organized the conference "CIC, Bentley, and TEDI Successfully Organize a Conference on the Application of Bentley's BIM/Digital Twin Solutions in High-Speed Rail Projects". The event was attended by more than 60 delegates, including experts, managers, and senior engineers various organizations.  This landmark event marks a significant step in the research and application of Bentley's BIM/Digital Twin solutions, and the application of digital technology in the development of transport infrastructure in Vietnam.

    With the participation of more than 50 delegates, the conference focused on the following main contents:

    • Overview of BIM technology and Bentley software solutions presented by Mr. Hoang Ngoc Khanh, Bentley software engineer.    
    • Presentation of Bentley's solutions in the Beijing-Zhangjiakou and Dali-Baoshan Intelligent High-Speed Rail projects.    
    • Report on the pilot application of railway design by the CIC-Bentley-TEDI expert group (Railway Engineering Center - TEDI).    
    • Introduction of MicroStation (Bentley) software for processing, digitizing databases, and designing infrastructure.    
    • Application of PLAXIS 3D Ultimate software in geotechnical engineering presented by Dr. Ho Manh Hung.    

    At the conference, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Khanh, Senior Engineer of Bentley, presented Bentley's software solutions for transport infrastructure projects, including roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, and drainage systems. These solutions support the entire project lifecycle, planning, design, and construction to operation and maintenance.    

    According to Mr. Hoang Ngoc Khanh, the outstanding advantage and also the difference of Bentley's solutions compared to other solutions is the link between the software to create a common data environment.  Besides, Bentley's solutions can also integrate and synchronize with other software.  This not only helps design companies, construction contractors, etc. to improve work efficiency but also helps project management boards manage the overall project accurately, efficiently, and economically.  Therefore, Bentley is proud to be the only technology company in the world that provides a full range of software solutions and services throughout the infrastructure project lifecycle.

    • AssetWise - Asset management, operation, and maintenance of projects.    
    • OpenPaths: Planning, modeling, and analyzing transportation.    

     

    At the conference, experts Bentley also introduced practical projects that successfully applied Bentley's solutions, including the Beijing-Zhangjiakou and Dali-Baoshan railway projects.  This is a large-scale project with complex terrain, with a 330km railway line, including the world's longest-span railway bridge - Nujiang Bridge (1024m long), and the longest railway tunnel in Asia - Gaoligong Mountain Tunnel (34.5km long).    

    The project management board implemented the 3D BIM method for the entire project, design and structural analysis to construction management.  The project team used Bentley's software solutions to increase design efficiency by nearly 100 times, shortening design time by more than 1000 hours.  The application of BIM has significantly saved resources for the project worth 4.5 billion yuan.  In particular, the ProjectWise platform helped the multidisciplinary team optimize the workflow, improve collaboration, and complete the project 100 days ahead of schedule.

    Also at the conference was the presentation by Dr. Ho Manh Hung, Bentley Geotechnical Expert, on the Application of PLAXIS 3D Ultimate software in geotechnical works such as deep excavation pits, metro tunnels, traffic tunnels, and gas station foundation combined with metro tunnels. This content also received a lot of attention the participating guests.    

    The highlight of the conference was the in-depth discussion on the challenges and solutions of BIM application in Vietnam.  The experts together analyzed issues related to data integration, improving software skills, and proposed a BIM implementation roadmap for TEDI in key projects.

    At the end of the conference, TEDI, CIC, and Bentley Systems agreed to continue to cooperate closely to promote the application of digital technology in transport infrastructure design.  In the coming time, the parties will concretize the cooperation contents, towards building a synchronous and modern BIM ecosystem for the Vietnamese transport industry.
